Street photography

Chris Eschner, a lecturer of English and history was born in Germany. He has found his love for photography through his travels to his friends and family in England. “Being a good photographer means being a good observer”, he says. During his journeys to York and London he has often tried to capture the moods of his trips. “Whenever I travel and arrive I feel like something has changed over the weeks I’ve been away” and it’s these changes he likes to portray. Recently he has noticed a rift between continental Europe and the UK and the discontent can be seen especially in the many faces of the commuters he sees during his train rides. In his work he tries to emphasis the cities and their inhabitants as a symbiotic unity, the people are engulfed in their environment and created by their surroundings as much as the surroundings had been created by the people.
